Blenheim Primary School Improvement Plan 2017-18

 

Leadership and Management

  1. To develop instructional leadership at all levels which is reflected in improvements in teaching and learning.
  2. For middle leaders to lead the development of their subjects/aspects to ensure that there is a broad and balanced curriculum which meets the needs of our children and that children are achieving their full potential.
  3. For Governors to further develop their action plan and improve the Governance of the school through greater school involvement and a higher level of scrutiny.
  4. Enrichment of the curriculum through upgrading the fabric of the school.

 

Quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment

  1. For new staff to have excellent mentoring which ensures the quality of their teaching is good and that staff in their early years of teaching benefit form mentoring which enables them to become increasingly outstanding.
  2. For the EAL Champion to have an increasingly positive impact on teaching and learning particularly of children newly arrived to the country.
  3. For excellent feedback and marking and assessment policies to be embedded across the school which has a major impact on teaching and learning.

 

Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare

  1. To ensure our children feel safe and free from bullying.
  2. For children’s behaviour to always be good and increasingly outstanding both inside the classroom and out.
  3. To strive for high staff morale and well-being.

 

Outcomes

  1. To accelerate improvements in progress and standards in English with particular reference to writing in Key stage 1.
  2. To continue to work towards diminishing the difference with vulnerable groups of children and to ensure the Higher Attaining Pupils are challenged.
  3. To improve outcomes for children in the no-core subjects.

To continue to ensure vulnerable groups including those in receipt of pupil premium achieve accelerated progress.

To increase the number of children at Age Related Expectations by 10% year on year.
